Type
SG-5 resin with low degree of polymerization should be selected for hard tube production. The higher degree of polymerization, the better physical and mechanical properties and heat resistance. However, the poor fluidity of resin brings certain difficulties to processing, so SG-5 resin with viscosity of (1.7~1.8) ×10-3Pa•s is generally selected.
Hard pipe is generally used as lead stabilizer, which has good thermal stability and is commonly used as tribasic lead, but it has poor lubricity and is usually used with lead and barium soap with good lubricity.
The selection and use of lubricants is very important for the processing of hard tubes. It is necessary to consider both internal lubrication to reduce the intermolecular force, so that the melt viscosity decreases and is favorable for forming, and external lubrication to prevent the melt from sticking to the hot metal, so that the surface of the products is bright.
Metal soap is generally used for internal lubrication, and low melting point wax is used for external lubrication.
Calcium carbonate and barium (barite powder) are mainly used as fillers. Calcium carbonate makes the surface performance of the pipe good, while barium can improve the formability and make the pipe easy to be shaped, which can reduce the cost. However, excessive dosage will affect the performance of the pipe, so it is better to add no or less filler to pressure pipe and corrosion resistant pipe.
