1. copper wire:

Using electrolytic copper as raw material, the copper wire made by continuous casting and rolling process is called low oxygen copper wire. The copper wire is called oxygen-free copper wire.

Low oxygen copper wire oxygen content is 100~250ppm, copper content is 99.9~9.95%, conductivity is 100~101%.

Oxygen free copper wire oxygen content is 4~20ppm, copper content is 99.96~9.99%, conductivity is 102%.

The specific gravity of copper is 8.9g/cm3.

2. Aluminum wire:

The aluminum wire used for electric wire is annealed and softened. Aluminum wire used for cable is not usually softened.

The electrical resistivity of aluminum used for wires and cables should be 0.028264 ω. Mm2 /m, and the specific gravity of aluminum should be 2.703g/cm3.

3. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

Polyvinyl chloride plastic is based on polyvinyl chloride resin, adding a variety of coordination agent mixed, such as anti-aging agent, antioxidant, filler, brightener, flame retardant, etc., its density is about 1.38 ~ 1.46g/cm3.

Characteristics of PVC material:

Excellent mechanical properties, chemical corrosion resistance, non combustion, good weather resistance, good electrical insulation, easy processing, etc.

Disadvantages of PVC materials:

(1) when burning, a lot of toxic smoke is emitted;

(2) Poor thermal aging performance.

PVC has insulation material and sheath material points.

4.PE:

Polyethylene is made of refined ethylene polymerization, according to the density can be divided into low density polyethylene (LDPE), medium density polyethylene (MDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE).

The density of low density polyethylene is 0.91-0.925 g/cm3. The density of medium density polyethylene is 0.925-0.94 g/cm3. The density of hdPE is 0.94-0.97 g/cm3.

Advantages of polyethylene materials:

(1) High insulation resistance and voltage resistance;

(2) In a wide range of frequency bands, the dielectric constant ε and the dielectric loss Angle tangent tgδ are small;

(3) flexible, good wear resistance;

④ Good heat aging resistance, low temperature performance and chemical stability;

⑤ Good water resistance and low moisture absorption;

⑥ The cable made with it is light in quality and convenient in use and laying.

Disadvantages of polyethylene materials:

Easy to burn when contact with flame;

The softening temperature is low.
